Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Promotes Derouen, Hires Garrison in Benefits Administration

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana has promoted Lillian Derouen to director of Sales Support in its Marketing Division. The company also named Amy Garrison manager of ITS Host Provider Services in its Benefits Administration Division.

Lillian Derouen previously served as manager of Sales Support at Blue Cross. In her new role, she will continue to support, educate and train all regional office sales support staff for the company. In addition, Derouen will oversee her team’s efforts to meet departmental goals and develop and implement a consistent approach across all sales regions, providing personal service and one-on-one solutions for clients.

Derouen joined Blue Cross in 1996 and holds a health and life insurance license from the Louisiana Department of Insurance. She is also a certified health consultant.

Amy Garrison will direct and coordinate the operational activities of the Benefits Administration Division, including developing and revising standard operational and working practices to ensure customer satisfaction, preparing the annual budget and monitoring ongoing expenses. She has more than 18 years of experience directing the operations of health benefit call centers and claims and quality departments.

Garrison received her bachelor’s degree in fine art from the University of Texas at Tyler. She also holds a general lines agent’s license and a teacher’s certification from the state of Texas.
