You may still be able to buy coverage during a special enrollment period if you have a qualifying life event.
Qualifying Life Events
If you do have a qualifying life event, you can usually change your current coverage or buy a new plan within 60 days in a special enrollment period. You likely won't qualify for special enrollment if you voluntarily canceled your coverage or if you lose coverage because you didn't pay your bills.
