Apply for Producer Contract
Here's how it works:
All applicants must first have a valid "C" license for the state of Louisiana. Visit http://www.ldi.state.la.us/ for more information. Out-of-state producers are not eligible for individual sales contracting.
Step 1: Producer Profile Application
To apply for producer contracting, complete and submit the online Producer Profile. Each producer profile will be reviewed and approved or disapproved by a Blue Cross regional director. You may be contacted by a Blue Cross regional director to discuss your application. If you are approved for contracting as an individual sales producer, you will be required to attend a training class in person.

Step 2: Contracting
If your Producer Profile Application is approved, you will be sent Producer Agreements and/or Assignments of Commission forms electronically. Complete and sign this paperwork, attach a copy of your Louisiana insurance license and proof of errors and omissions (E&O) coverage, and submit all documents to BCBSLA Marketing Services for processing. (See below for E&O details.)
How to Submit Documents
Errors and Omissions (E&O) Coverage
- E&O coverage must include aggregate limits of not less than $1,000,000 and per occurrence limits of not less than $500,000
- May obtain coverage from any solvent E&O insurer.
- Contracted BCBSLA producers are eligible to purchase an E&O policy through BCS Insurance Services by contacting them directly at 1.866.389.0022 or by requesting an application brochure from Producer Services at 1.800.222.0524 or producer.services@bcbsla.com.
- Note that BCBSLA does not sell, underwrite or administer this E&O insurance. All questions regarding E&O insurance should be directed to BCS Insurance Services.
