Reeves Named Director of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation


Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana has named Christy Oliver Reeves director of the company’s charitable subsidiary, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation. Reeves will oversee the operation of the foundation’s two signature programs, the Angel Award and Smart Bodies, as well as manage corporate philanthropy, community relations and internal and external diversity programs for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana.

Reeves comes to Blue Cross from the Audubon Council of the Girl Scouts, where as CEO she supervised more than 40 employees serving a 10-parish area. She also has extensive experience in the theater, in event planning and in library consulting.

She is involved in numerous volunteer activities, including the Baton Rouge Rotary Club, the Children’s Coalition, the Baton Rouge Women’s Council and Habitat for Humanity. She was profiled by the Baton Rouge Business Report in 2006 as a community leader in its annual “Top Forty Under 40” issue. Reeves received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Louisiana State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana is Louisiana-owned and -operated. Marking its 73rd anniversary this year, the company is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. It is a tax-paying mutual company, owned by its policyholders.
