Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, as a Medicare-approved Part D sponsor, offers RxBLUE (PDP) to provide you with protection from catastrophic drug costs.
Anyone who lives in Louisiana and is entitled to Medicare Part A and/or enrolled in Medicare Part B can join RxBLUE (PDP). Certain enrollment restrictions apply.

Need reimbursement for a Part D vaccine?
If your doctor or pharmacy administered a vaccine for which you need reimbursement, fill out a Claim Form. Make sure to list the drug cost and administration fee separately. View detailed instructions
Program Restrictions and Assistance
RxBLUE (PDP) is a Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) with a Medicare contract that is renewed annually, and the availability of coverage beyond the end of the current year is not guaranteed. You are eligible to enroll in RxBLUE (PDP) if you are entitled to Medicare Part A or enrolled in Medicare Part B and you live in the state of Louisiana. You must continue to pay your Medicare Part B premium if not otherwise paid for under Medicaid or by another third party. You may only be enrolled in one Medicare Part D plan at a time. If you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage HMO or PPO plan or a Medicare Advantage Private Fee-for-Service (PFFS) plan that includes Medicare prescription drugs, you may not enroll in a PDP like RxBLUE (PDP) unless you disenroll from that other plan. If you are enrolled in a PFFS plan that does not include Medicare prescription drugs, or if you are enrolled in a Medical Savings Account (MSA) plan or an 1876 cost plan, you may enroll in a PDP like RxBLUE (PDP).

- The Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. TTY/TDD users should call 1-800-325-0778; or
- Your State Medicaid office.
Our Organization contracts with the Federal government. RxBLUE (PDP) is a stand-alone prescription drug plan with a Medicare contract.
