Blue Cross Announces Promotions

Six employees of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana recently were promoted to vice president in an organizational realignment designed to improve effectiveness.

Laura Landry has been promoted from director to Vice President, Customer Engagement and Planning, in Blue Cross’ Information Technology Department. As vice president, she will plan and coordinate IT resources to support the corporate business strategy and ensure effective delivery of IT services. Landry’s extensive IT background includes work with Louisiana Technical College, Community Coffee, General Health Systems and Fidelity National Bank.

Also in IT, Charles Landreneau has been promoted to Vice President of Enterprise Infrastructure. Landreneau has served as a director in that position since 1999. He will plan and direct all activities involving enterprise IT commuting, telecommunications, the IT operations center and IT recovery and continuity, ensuring that the overall technology infrastructure supports the immediate and future needs of the company.

Brian Keller was named Vice President of Individual Sales and Marketing. He had served as statewide director in that position since 2002. Keller has direct responsibility for all lines of individual products and also plays a key leadership role in marketing support for all Blue Cross products.

Robin Bueche, with the company since 1998, has been promoted to Vice President of Legal Affairs. She serves as the managing attorney for Blue Cross, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Legal Department, including procurement and IT vendor contracting, product development and maintenance and appeals and grievances. She also manages the delivery of general corporate legal advice to all other departments.

Milam Ford and Cindy Hallam both were promoted to vice president in the Medical Economics Department. Ford has been Director of Pharmacy Services for Blue Cross since 2002, and as vice president in that position he will continue to oversee benefit design and formulary management. He also will continue implementing programs that improve pharmaceutical care to health plan members while reducing pharmacy benefit costs.

Hallam, a registered nurse, has been Divisional Director of Care Management and Health Informatics. As Vice President of Care Management Services, she will continue to develop care management services strategy, oversee the growth of case management activities and medical informatics, and develop disease management programs. Both Hallam and Ford will contribute in their new positions to Blue Cross’ marketing, product development and cost and quality efficiency programs.
