2007 Angel Award Nominees Announced
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana recognizes 75 outstanding volunteers statewide Louisiana residents have nominated more than 75 of their fellow citizens for the 2007 Angel Award sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, identifying these nominees as performing outstanding volunteer work on behalf of children in our state. A panel of past honorees will choose eight Louisiana Angels from among these nominees. Each of the eight will receive a $20,000 grant for his or her charitable organization from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation. Created in 1995, the Angel Award program has helped to identify and honor 95 outstanding individuals and given more than $560,000 to charities on behalf of the honorees. Past winners have come from all walks of life and ranged in age from 17 to 93. What they all had in common was their unselfish contribution of time and energy to improve the welfare of the children in their communities.
