ACTUARIAL SERVICES

The Actuarial Services division maintains statistical data on claims payment history and projected liabilities.

Actuarial Services also runs economic statistical formulas that determine the rates charged for the various levels of coverage.

Underwriting is also part of the Actuarial division, and they are responsible for reviewing the requests for coverage that have been made by the sales representatives. Using the data that has been developed by the Actuarial Group, Underwriting determines the details of coverage and rates to be charged for all policies issued by Blue Cross.
