How to Request Funding

Corporate Sponsorships

  • Sponsorships usually offer Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana opportunities, such as advertising and event tickets, to promote and enhance our brands and/or increase business. These benefits are not required.
  • Sponsorships are used most often to conduct fundraising events. For example:
    • Luncheons
    • Walks/races
    • Conferences that help raise awareness of an organization's programs

Submitting Requests

Applications are reviewed each quarter. Applications must be submitted via our online application by 4:30 p.m. on the following deadlines:

If the application deadline falls on a weekend, the application is due by close of business the Monday immediately following the deadline.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation accepts grant requests by invitation only.

Our program staff actively surveys the landscape of nonprofit organizations engaged in innovative, exemplary work in areas of interest to us. We will invite only those with compelling projects to submit grant applications. Though we know that many excellent organizations and programs are active in Louisiana, we are able to consider only a small number for grant awards each year.

We are always delighted to learn more about new organizations and program strategies; however, we cannot guarantee that we will invite every interested organization to submit a proposal. We ask that all organizations thoroughly review our giving guidelines to assess their fit with the Foundation’s funding priorities and note specific funding limitations before contacting us.

Unsolicited Applications and Inquiries
While we do not accept unsolicited applications for grants, we will accept brief inquiries from organizations whose work is aligned closely with our priorities. However, only on very rare occasions does an invitation to apply for funding result from an inquiry. If -- after thoroughly reviewing the information provided here on our website -- you believe your organization is a strong fit with our funding priorities, you may submit an a letter of inquiry (see Guidelines for Inquiry Letters below). Please be as specific as possible about how you see the fit between the work you do and our priorities. There is no need to call before submitting an inquiry form. We will review all inquiries and respond, if appropriate. You can submit inquiries to us for our information, but you may or may not receive a response.
