Preventive Care

Even if you are pretty healthy, it's important to have a check-up each year with your primary care doctor. It's good for your health, and it can also help you save money by keeping chronic conditions in check.

Yearly check-ups are important for:

  • Getting any health screenings, flu shots or other shots you should have

  • Asking your doctor questions about your health

  • Setting personal health and wellness goals

  • Finding specialty care if you need it - your primary care doctor can recommend another doctor or clinic you should see

  • Catching any issues early, when they are easier to treat

  • Checking your children's physical, emotional and social development to make sure they are meeting the right age milestones

If it's been more than a year since you or your child had an annual wellness visit, call your doctor's office to schedule one today. Keep in mind that if you get sick or hurt and need to go to a primary care doctor, you can ask about doing your check-up at the same time.
