Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana has named Sandra Kowalski as information technology manager over the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning team. In addition, the company appointed Lydia Martin as Foundation initiatives manager and Aleria Reed as manager of quality assurance and test planning.
Sandra Kowalski will oversee the company’s HR/payroll and financial software systems. She brings to the job more than 28 years of experience in the information services field in the insurance, healthcare and telecommunications industries.
Most recently, Kowalski was billing systems manager over customer billing and HR/payroll systems at EATEL. She received a bachelor of business administration degree from Kent State University, majoring in computer science, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Lydia Martin now leads and executes Blue Cross Foundation initiatives that include its recently announced matching grant program, Challenge for a Healthier Louisiana (www.OurHomeLouisiana.com).
Martin has more than 17 years of experience in not-for-profit management and leadership, including a long tenure with Girl Scouts throughout the United States. Most recently she was HR Manager for the Safety Council of the Louisiana Capital Area. She received her degree in human resources management from Tarleton State University.
Aleria Reed has more than 11 years of experience in the quality assurance field, having led teams supporting billing, accounting, claims adjustment and Medicare-related billing changes. She comes to Blue Cross from Amedisys, where she was the software QA team lead.
Reed received her bachelor’s degree in information systems and decision sciences and an MBA in technology management from LSU. She is a certified software tester.
