The re-designed Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana website recently won two awards in the Interactive Media Awards™ (IMA) competition.
The new www.bcbsla.com won Best in Class awards under the categories of Insurance (scoring 484 out of a possible 500 points) and Healthcare (480 out of 500).
The site also earned perfect marks for Content (Insurance), Design (Healthcare) and Feature Functionality (both categories).
The new site was re-launched in November 2010 with new design and functionality. One of its new features is My Blue Community, which also recently won an IMA (Outstanding Achievement in Social Networking).
The IMAs were launched in 2006 by the Interactive Media Council, a nonprofit organization of web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals. The awards were created to provide accomplished web professionals with endorsements and tools to be recognized as leading providers of top-tier services.
The IMAs “recognize the highest standards of excellence in website design and development “* and nominations are accepted from around the world from web design firms, advertising agencies and corporate marketing departments, as well as individual web designers and graphic artists.”* Websites are judged on five criteria: Design, Content, Feature Functionality, Usability, and Standards Compliance and Cross-Browser Compatibility.
