Provider Workshops

Periodically, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana holds provider workshops around the state.  These workshops are available to providers and their staff. Workshops offer training, educational materials, and insight into Blue Cross' practices, standards and future in the marketplace.

In collaboration with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) and Blue companies nationwide, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana offers our providers the Good Health Club Physician ToolkitSM. The tool kit includes unique educational materials designed to foster better communication between you and your patients on childhood obesity and diabetes prevention.

The Good Health Club Physician Toolkit features messages from the “Good Health Club,” a group of animal characters who encourage children to:

• Eat five servings of fruits and vegetables every day
• Limit screen time to two hours or less
• Get at least one hour of physical activity
• Limit sweetened drinks to zero

Included in the toolkit are:

• A Toolkit Cover Letter
• Physician Guidelines booklet
• Weekly Journal Sheets for patients to keep track of their goals between visits
• Healthy Tips Sheets according to age range
• Diabetes BMI Charts for boys and girls
• Outrun Obesity Brochure
• Waiting and Exam Room Posters
