Quality Blue
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana is proud to introduce Quality Blue: the “umbrella” name for our new series of innovative healthcare quality programs.
The first of these is our Physician Recognition Program, which is based on the nationally recognized Bridges to Excellence (BTE), a nationally recognized quality rewards initiative. Blue Cross is the first health plan in Louisiana to offer BTE’s ground-breaking concept of rewarding physicians for delivery of high-quality healthcare.
Who is eligible?
Blue Cross offers rewards to individual physicians and/or clinics that achieve BTE recognition in the following specialties:
- Family Medicine
- General Practice
- Internal Medicine
- Pediatrics
Choose a program:
Blue Cross invites primary care physicians statewide to apply for BTE recognition in any of the following programs:
- Diabetes Care Recognition (DCR)
- Cardiac Care Recoginition (CCR)
- Physician Office Link Recognition (POL) PPC
- Physician Office Link Recognition (POL) PPC-PCMH
Physicians choose a program, then collect and submit medical record data to a BTE-approved performance assessment organization (PAO) for scoring. The physician or clinic receives BTE recognition if scores meet or exceed the minimum cumulative score.
Furthermore, Blue Cross will reimburse physicians for any affiliated license and/or application fees if they achieve one of the above-listed recognitions (not to exceed $480 per physician per program).
Blue Cross also will reward network physicians annually based on the level of BTE recognition achieved.
