With Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana’s signature telehealth program, BlueCare, you can have online doctor visits 24/7 from home, work or anywhere you need care. BlueCare is good for treating routine, non-emergency health issues, and the doctor you visit can answer your questions, make a diagnosis and prescribe basic medications if necessary. BlueCare doctors are U.S.-trained and board certified.

For behavioral health online visits, you can schedule an appointment at any time; available appointment times will vary by provider.

BlueCare is easy to use. Just download the BlueCare app from the App Store (iOS phones) or Google Play (Android phones), sign up and get started! You can also learn more about BlueCare and sign up for your account online now!

Other Telehealth Options

Members with telehealth benefits can also reach out to their own network physician (PCP) to ask whether their office has telehealth options. Some clinics have their own telehealth services where you can speak to your own network doctor. Members can also choose a network PCP from Blue Cross’ provider directory and confirm virtual care options.

What is Remote Patient Monitoring?

Some providers and care teams are able to collect and study your health data. They can use this data to make a treatment plan just for you and help you manage your care. Blue Cross health plans do not cover this service today, but we may in the future.

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is an easy and convenient way to be treated for minor illnesses, like cough, sniffles, fever, pinkeye or a rash. Members can also access behavioral health services online. All you need is a computer, tablet or smartphone with internet access and an account with a healthcare provider.

Blue Cross members can call the number on their ID card to learn about their telehealth benefits. Those with telehealth coverage have two options for seeking this convenient care—from anywhere!
